What good thinking by Tim Burton to cast an actual real-life ape (Donny Wahlberg) as the lead in this movie! Loved the original, this was a load of old cobblers!

Or was it Mark Wahlberg? Either way, I didn't like it. But do note that my rating has improved a notch since last time.

Good.

If this is original then sure fine great not bad at all, however - if this is Tim Burton's version... (Screaming so high pitched only dogs can hear it) where was I? Yeah it's horrible, Marky Mark is terrible! Does anyone know? Because the poster is the original I think. I'll hedge my bets and give it a 1 just in case it is Burton's piece of garbage with the worst ending in film history.

I grew up on the original Planet of the Apes saga like my father did when it was new and Michael Wilson proves to be an excellent writer and master storyteller. I love it. Array.

For those of you who gave it one or two stars by just looking at the above picture and assuming it was from the remake, you have made a mistake and obviously have not read the script. This script IS from the 1967 original version starring Charlton Heston; the picture posted above was from the remake. The dialogue is slightly different in the movie (most scripts change before shooting) but all in all it was a great script. As a person who read the book from which the screen play was written, I can honestly say the movie was better! I do agree with the others as the original picture, not the Tim Burton remake, is the superior version!

Did anyone actually think to read the script BEFORE posting? I did and it's blatantly obvious in the 1st few lines that this is the script for the ORIGINAL film starring Charlton Heston and Roddy McDowall. The filming date is 1967, I doubt Mark Wahlberg was even a lonly sperm in hid daddy's nut sack back then!

This is the script for the original film, not the 2001 Burton version. It's a pity for me, because I was looking for an early script for the Burton film. But, hey, the original is the superior film and worthy of 10/10. Saying that, I'm not one of the sheep who feel the need to trash Burton's film, which I actually enjoyed. Just not to the same level as the original. It had problems and issues, some major, but it kept me interested despite that.

Yeah, I liked Tim Burton's version. I didn't know much about the original yet. Then, Rise comes out and makes this one make no sense. First, they say the apes became intelligent when going through the time rift. Then, they say it was because of a virus to cure Alzheimer's. Then, there's the ending I've never understood and has still been left open-ended. The casting was pretty good though. I thought Mark, Michael, Helena, Tim Roth, and the others all did a great job. Then, I read about the original and understand it's not much like Tim's version. Was it Tim who wrote the script to that one, or someone else? Either way, it doesn't make much sense to me.

All of these comments about it being the remake. IT'S THE ORIGINAL! This is a classic and arguably one of the best sci-fi movies ever made. The reason it gets a 7 instead of a 10 is because the script certainly isn't the best part of the movie.
